This guy was surrounded by people listening intently to his lyrical poetry on politics and everyday life. It’s like rap except he uses traditional wooden clackers as his back beat instead of techno music. One man show. Awesome.
For a city as densely populated as Singapore, they sure take their urban planning seriously. The park below was conceived as a “City Room” for community gathering according to their National Parks website. Whatever that means, it sure looks pretty.
What’s more impressive is the fact that it was sooo well maintained. I’m pretty sure there’s an unwritten rule somewhere that urban parks mean graffiti and homeless people– a rule which this “fine” city has clearly thrown out the window.
People mostly travel to see and experience things that are different from what they are accustomed to.
Well these marble quarries in Muscat, Oman are as different as it gets for me. When faced with such grand vistas, one can’t help but think profound thoughts such as:
1. This would be a great location for a Bond villain’s lair.
2. Where is young Anakin?
3. Would I survive a zombie apocalypse in these arid conditions?
Deep. Serious. Thoughts.
